1.0    Chairman’s Welcome

Good Evening & welcome to the MKDSA Annual General Meeting 2018. We are delighted to also include a fans forum as part of the evening to provide supporters the opportunities to ask questions to Andrew Cullen & the new first team manager Paul Tisdale.
Fans forums over previous years have proved to be a fantastic way for supporters to gain a deeper understanding of the football clubs processes and plans and I’m sure tonight will be no different. I would like to thank Andrew Cullen & Paul Tisdale for joining us this evening. On the pitch, it’s not been a good year to be an MK Dons fan but I have great confidence that Paul and his team can turn things around and we can look to rise through the football league pyramid.
Off the pitch, our supporters have been magnificent in stepping up and being involved within many projects to not only help the club but other communities. The MK Dons FC Fans Facebook Group crowd funded and raised a staggering amount to sponsor three first team players this season and they are already well on their way to achieve the same feat this season. Two supporters kayaked over 130 miles to raise funds for a local children hospice. We also saw this year an online fundraising page was created and raised funds to support Hyde United after pyrotechnics burned their astro-turf pitch during an FA Cup fixture.
It was at the AGM last year that we were able to confirm the amazing £5,500 raised for the Changing Places Project. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and the support from all volunteers to make this happen.  A particular thank you to our disability officer Rex Burton who has managed this project from inception to completion with MK Dons. We are delighted to see the facility completed and accessible to visitors at Stadium MK this season.
The MKDSA were delighted to be involved in sponsoring awards at the end of season player awards which paid homage to the efforts of these supporter groups. We were also delighted to support the MK Dons SET Player of the year award as well as the Young Player of the year which was won by Callum Brittain.
The Archive has been maintained and updated this season and we are now only missing one programme to have a full programme history of MK Dons matchday programmes. This archive is being managed and constantly updated by Russell Forgham. We hope this archive will be of huge interest to our supporters as we look back on the history of being an MK Dons supporter.
The MKDSA FC have had a competitive season in the Internet Football Association (IFA) League finishing 19th out of 37 teams in the UK League. The aim of the team and the league is to build bridges between groups of fans of different clubs by playing a friendly game of football.
The Young Dons Zone remains a popular area on matchdays which the MKDSA have been involved heavily to support. Conversations are continuing to improve this area further for our young supporters to enjoy. A particular thank you to Adam Faiers & Sarah Goldsbrough who can both be often seen supporting this area on matchdays.
Unfortunately, this AGM will see a few departures from the previous officers. Dave Gundry, Carolyn Green & Sarah Goldsbrough have all decided to stand down from the MKDSA due to work and personal commitments. All three officers have offered a huge amount of time and support to the MKDSA for numerous years. I would like to place on record my gratitude for their support and wish them all the best with their future adventures.
This brings an opportunity to welcome new members onto the committee. With the members approval, I will be excited to welcome Mike Killeen, Olivia Killeen & Daisy Croker onto the committee. If you are reading this and feel that you can offer any support then please feel free to contact me.
To conclude, I realise this has been a hard season but I am ever so thankful for being involved with such a fantastic fan base. The support from the club, committee and most importantly the fans fills me with hope that we can progress together this upcoming season under Paul Tisdale’s management.
Have a great evening
Steve Gifford

Notes
•    Any officer positions that did not attract any candidates will be filled at the first Committee meeting as per the constitution (6.15 & 6.9).

•    Officers are always eager for members to put themselves forward to assist them in their duties even if they feel that they have not the time to stand for an Officer position. We currently have members assisting Membership, the Website, the Archiving project, and many more assisting wherever they can be of help. If you feel that you can assist please contact any committee member.

•    If you were thinking of standing for an Officer position at this AGM and ended up not doing so why not consider being co-opted to experience life on the committee? The constitution covers this, all you need to do is make the Secretary aware that you wish to be considered. 6.18: Based on a majority of the Committee voting in favour, the Committee may co-opt individuals to join the Management Committee. Co-opted individuals shall seek election to the Management Committee from MKDSA membership in the normal way at the next AGM.

6.1 Candidate Statements

Steve Gifford – Chair
My name is Steve Gifford and I am standing for re-election for Chairperson. I have been actively involved with the MKDSA for the last 3 seasons where I first joined the committee to build a bridge between the MKDSA committee and the supporters football team.
I regularly attend matches home and away and can be found at the top of the Cowshed on home matchdays. The last couple of years I have been representing MK Dons as a player for MKDSA FC as well as supporting the lovable Donny & Mooie. I have also been involved with managing the organisation of a football tournament & cycling from Milton Keynes to Southend to raise funds for the changing places project.  I was also involved with part-taking in the first MK Dons Legends match.
Within my role, this year I have been involved with the review of the club’s customer charter, sponsorship at the end of season awards, opening of the Changing Places facility and hosting fan forum events. I am also active on several supporters working group meetings as well as existing with individual supporter concerns.
I love this football club and I only wish for the club to grow on and off the pitch whilst maintaining a strong relationship with the supporter community. I am proud of the accomplishments from the MKDSA and wish to be re-elected as I believe we can achieve so much more.

Russell Forgham – Vice-Chair
My name is Russell Forgham and I am standing for re-election as Vice-Chair. I am a season ticket holder in the East Stand. I have been a member of the MKDSA committee for several years in my role as online archivist, collating and compiling the MKDSA online "History in the Making" Archive, which is giving me a deep insight into the history of the Dons and helps me communicate the work of the MKDSA in an authoritative way to both fans and the general public. I believe the MKDSA is taking great steps to engage with all fans, help to sort out their concerns and be a voice for them and truly represent them and I will ensure that this continues if I am re-elected.

Rex Burton - Disabilities Officer Position
My name is Rex Burton, I am 72 years old, and I have been registered disabled for over 40 years.
I have been watching the MK Dons for the past twelve years, and I have been a season ticket holder for the last eleven years.
I have been the disabilities officer for the MKDSA for the past ten years and I would like to continue in this roll with the support of the members.
I am an elected trustee of the Level Playing Field organisation for the disabled
I hope through my efforts, that I have gained the respect, not only of my fellow committee members, but also of the members of staff at the club, that I have been involved with, and would ask for your vote to enable me to continue to work on behalf of the disabled supporters.

Committee Member – Tom Stewart
I am Tom Stewart and have served on the SA committee for many years both as Chairman and committee member.  I still feel that this experience along with working groups I have been involved with helps me to represent you where needed.  Some of you will know me and others may have seen me taking pics at matches, I do this so that fans who are unable to attend can at least get a feeling for what the game was like.  I should be grateful if, with your approval, I can continue to try my best for all fans, whether or not, they are SA members, for another year and with this in mind I would ask for you votes to continue.

 Committee Member – Mike Killeen
I live in South Bedfordshire which is a traditional catchment area for Luton Town FC.  This will be my seventh season as a MK Dons supporter and my sixth as a season ticket holder.
I watch the games from the top of the Cowshed along with my 13-year-old son who is also a season ticket holder. I came to MK Dons by accident, on a £1 ticket (an offer by the club to local youth teams). It took that one match to get hooked! Loved the ground, loved the vibe. I have never regretted that decision.
I joined the MKDSA after buying my first Season Ticket, it was the obvious thing to do and I came to the first AGM last year as I was curious about what the MKDSA does, especially how it interacts with the club.  They asked for some people to join the committee, I had experience of being involved in the committee side of things in other sports, so it seems a natural thing to do.
Thanks to the MKDSA I have represented fans’ interests on various working parties, namely; the Matchday Experience and Ticket Prices working parties.  Being on these working groups gave me a greater insight into how the club works and I am proud to lend a fan’s voice to how the club is run. As a CAMRA member I am very glad I directly contributed to getting Real Ale in the bars on match days!
I have put myself forward for the MKDSA Secretary role. I have the requisite previous experience of club administration in previous roles. I believe you have to contribute, walk the walk not just talk the talk.
Like the rest of the MKDSA committee I would ask you, the reader, to consider coming onto the committee and lending your voice (and skills) to improve the way things are done at MK Dons FC

Committee Member – Daisy Croker
My name is Daisy Croker and I am 18 years old. I am standing to be the events organiser on the committee this year. I have been supporting the dons since the age of 5 where I won two tickets through a competition at school to watch the next Saturday home game. I would attend matches when as and when I could as I was simply hooked. My mum saw how much I loved football so bought my dad and I a half season ticket each for Christmas during the 2007-2008 season. I’m currently a season ticket holder in the family area with my dad and some of our friends where we all attend home games together and some away games together.  This is my first season standing for the committee. I have made the decision to stand for the committee because I feel that younger supporters aren’t always listened to therefore having a youngster on the committee will change this. I would like to be elected as the event’s organiser because I have lots of new ideas for future events that would suit all ages. I strongly believe that the social events that the supporters association host are a great opportunity for fans to meet a wide range of fans who share the same love for this fantastic football club. I love this club so much  and I really hope by standing for the committee I can help move the supporters association forward and be a voice that supporters can come to if they’ve got new ideas or concerns that they’d raising.

Committee Member – Olivia Killeen
My name is Olivia Killeen, I am in my early 20s. My dad and brothers have been going to MK Dons games for years.  I went to my first MK Dons game in my early teens.  It was a Tuesday night and it was absolutely freezing!  I remember very little about the game, but I do remember being hugely impressed with the stadium, the laughter and banter between the fans.  I lived at the time in Scotland (my dad and mum had divorced, and he had remarried), so didn’t get to go to MK games very often. But when I did I started to catch the bug. The fans were great, so friendly and it felt like a big family. It was also a lovely way to bond with my brothers and my dad.  I went to an Old Firm game in Glasgow once, that was an experience!  Not necessarily a good one either.  MK Dons is way more friendly club and an MK Dons game is a much, much better day out – more intimate, and more family orientated.
My dad told me last year that he had joined the MKDSA.  I was interested to hear that being part of the MKDSA meant he spent a lot of time talking to the club hierarchy, he had met various players and managers, the coaches and others that worked for the club.  He had been asked to join various working groups.  It sounded really interesting.  My dad also told me recently that young people, especially females, were under represented on the MKDSA and their voice wasn’t heard often enough by the football club.  While at University I had done a lot of volunteering and I had had enjoyed that. My dad told me that my work skills (I work in marketing) would be really useful to the MKDSA.  I wanted to have something useful and interesting to do outside of work.  So, I have put myself forward with the intention of to helping out in any way I can.
