1.0 Chairman’s Welcome
Welcome to this year’s MKDSA Annual General Meeting. This year we have seen the Association, with your help, raise an amazing amount of money for the Changing Places project which will not only help the less fortunate of our fans with a state of the art facility but will be an addition that puts us ahead of many Premier league clubs.
The Young Dons Zone continues to be a great favourite with the younger fans and parents and with support from the club is still growing and is a space for the youngsters to play, meet friends and players. We are heavily involved with this as indeed we were last year.
The MKDSA FC are still supporting Donnie and Mooie who in turn are finding more and more demands on their time both at the club and in the wider community, attending events at schools etc.
Our sponsorship of Scott Wootton’s home shirt continues this year along with our sponsorship of Disability player of the year, Fan of the year and Young fan of the year.
Our website is undergoing improvements and indeed we would welcome help with this, our Facebook page is proving popular and our Archive project is doing fantastically well.
In conclusion, I would like to thank both committee and fans for your support during last season and trust that we will continue to enjoy it this season, there is an air of hope and excitement about the place this season and I am certain you join me in wishing Robbie and the team all the best for the season ahead.

• Any officer positions that did not attract any candidates will be filled at the first Committee meeting as per the constitution (6.15 & 6.9).
• Officers are always eager for members to put themselves forward to assist them in their duties even if they feel that they have not the time to stand for an Officer position. We currently have members assisting Membership, the Website, the Archiving project, and many more assisting wherever they can be of help. If you feel that you can assist please contact any committee member.
• If you were thinking of standing for an Officer position at this AGM and ended up not doing so why not consider being co-opted to experience life on the committee? The constitution covers this, all you need to do is make the Secretary aware that you wish to be considered. 6.18: Based on a majority of the Committee voting in favour, the Committee may co-opt individuals to join the Management Committee. Co-opted individuals shall seek election to the Management Committee from MKDSA membership in the normal way at the next AGM.
6.1 Candidate Statements
Steve Gifford – Chair
My name is Steve Gifford & I am standing this year to be the chairperson of the MKDSA. I have been actively involved with the MKDSA for the last two seasons as the community football officer. Within this role, my main highlight has been the organisation of a football tournament held at Stadium:MK raising £2,075 for the changing places project. I regularly attend MK Dons matches both home and away and you can find me match days at the top of the Cowshed or supporting club mascots Donny & Mooie. I was also one of the volunteers that cycled from Milton Keynes to Southend to raise funds for Willen Hospice and changing places project. I am a member of the MKDSA football team for the past 3 seasons and was part of the squad that faced the “legends team” back in May. Most recently, I represented the MKDSA by attending the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) Supporters Summit.
Russell Forgham – Vice-Chair
My name is Russell Forgham and I am a season ticket holder in the East Stand. I have been a member of the MKDSA committee for several years in my role as online archivist, collating and compiling the MKDSA online "History in the Making" Archive, which is giving me a deep insight into the history of the Dons and helps me communicate the work of the MKDSA in an authoritative way to both fans and the general public. I believe the MKDSA can do much more than it currently does to engage with all fans, help to sort out their concerns and be a voice for them and truly represent them. I will make this a top priority if I am elected.
Dave Gundry - Secretary
My name is Dave Gundry and am standing for the role of secretary. I have been following the Dons since 2004. I am a season ticket holder in the family corner and attend matches with my three children. I have been involved with the MKDSA since 2014 when I was fortunate enough to become involved with the History in the Making" Archive project. I have also been fulfilling the role of Membership Secretary for the last 18 months.
Carolyn Green – Treasurer
My name is Carolyn Green and after moving to Milton Keynes in 2007 my son started going to the Dons as he was so excited to have a good local team to watch. I took him along to a few matches and was hooked. I decided to join the SA as I enjoy the community feel and energy of this young club and hope I can help be the voice of the families that are growing alongside it.
Sarah Goldsbrough – Young Dons & Event Organiser
My name is Sarah Goldsbrough and I have been following the Milton Keynes Dons both home and away since their arrival in Milton Keynes back in September 2003, I joined the clubs Matchday Experience Working Group in 2010, and joined the committee of the Supporters Association in January 2012. I believe that the MK Dons are bringing a much-needed sense of community to Milton Keynes and I am keen to assist the association, and the football club, wherever possible as they both grow and develop. I am a member of the England Fan Club and attend as many international matches, both home and away as my work and finances allow.
Rex Burton - Disabilities Officer
My name is Rex Burton, I am 71 years old, and I have been registered disabled for over 40 years. I have been watching the MK Dons for the past eleven years, and I have been a season ticket holder for the last ten years.
I have been the disabilities officer for the MKDSA for the past nine years and I would like to continue in this roll with the support of the members. I am a member of the Level Playing Field organisation for the disabled
I hope through my efforts, that I have gained the respect, not only of my fellow committee members, but also of the members of staff at the club, that I have been involved with, and would ask for your vote to enable me to continue to work on behalf of the disabled supporters.
Tom Stewart- Committee Member
I have enjoyed my time as chair however I feel that it is time for a new and younger head to take the SA to the next level. I am going to stay on as a committee member as I think continuity is important and in this way, I can support the new chair and still serve you the fans if allowed to do so. My thanks go to the committee members I have worked with, to the Club officials, who have given us access to them and have done a lot to accommodate our requests, and last but most importantly, you the fans and members who have elected me each year to serve you it has been much appreciated.
Some of seasons’ 2016/17 highlights are detailed below:
• Changing Places Project
Thanks to everyone's hard work, and supporters’ generosity we are now in the position to move the project into the next phase. Plans for the building work needed at the stadium to house this new facility are now under way, and the actual building work will start soon. All the specialised equipment needed has now been sourced and will be purchased as soon as the building work nears completion. Many thanks to everyone that supported us with this project, without you it would not be happening
• Young Dons Zone
The MKDSA continues to staff and run the highly successful YDZ on Match Days. We worked closely with the club in planning the refurbishment to make the area more “Dons” friendly.
• We sponsored Scott Wootton for the home season.
• We sponsored the Young Player of the Year award.
• We sponsored the Disability Player of the Year award.
• We are asked annually by the club for our input when they are updating the Customer Charter using best practice from across the whole spectrum of clubs and supporters via our contacts within the game.
• MKDSA FC were asked to participate in a sponsored match against a team of ex-Don legends to promote the SET 10-year anniversary celebrations.
• Continued our memberships and good relationships with both the Football Supporters Federation and Level Playing Field for the benefit of supporters.
• We had representatives on many of the clubs working parties.
• Committee members dealt with numerous supporter queries, along with some complaints, during the season, and supplied information and interviews for football magazines/papers based throughout Europe.
• Made a formal approach to the Football League regarding the treatment of our supporters during our first visit to Kingston.
• The History in the Making project has continued and have been able to source a scan of nearly every programme of all Dons matches since 2004, including home and away. We also have continued to obtain hard copies of each match-day programme and have now nearly 90% of all games.
• We continue to work as a sounding board for the supporters by maintaining constant contact with the club and its directors on numerous issues.
